Like Rosie I have not found anything else on Ethel(apart from Census records 1891-1911).
Can't see George Birch on the 1935 Valuation Rolls for Scotland(SP).

Have you tried the 1939 Register for England & Wales ?

Hi ev,
No luck with the1939.
They may have emigrated following the death of Ethel's mother in 1933. In which case does anyone have access to Worldwide records please?

Sorry Rosie I lack this information also. I started this quest a few days ago knowing only the name of Ethels's mother----- Margaret (Maggie) McPate born McPake who was my Grand Aunt. She married a Dr Henry Ernest Trestrail MRCP, FRCS . in 1909
