Sarah Shrimpton's tragic death, Winson Green c1905.
« on: Thursday 11 January 18 23:24 GMT (UK) »
I would like more information about my relative Sarah Shrimpton and family, Sarah ended her own life in Winson Green canal about 1905? She and her husband John Shrimpton lived above their Shoe Repair Shop, corner of Foundry Road and James Turner Street.
By motor car with my parents went there late 40's I think just to have a look. 'Googled' now to find the building is still there and the facia unaltered, quite pleased. John Shrimpton remarried, perhaps to a Mrs Thomas or Thompson, who had two children?
I think Sarah's death was also recorded in a local newspaper.
Any help much appreciated.

Gibbons, Breeze, Chamberlain, Maria Lewis Mills - all Staffordshire I think?

Hi

Winson Green is in Birmingham Warwickshire - not Worcs so I will ask the moderator to move your post to that board Moved to Warwickshire.

The only likely death I can find on freebmd is in 1913 Birmingham and she was Sarah J aged 39

Is that the correct death?

John D Shrimpton married Elizabeth Thompson in Birmingham 1916

John David Shrimpton married Sarah Jane Bartlett in Aston 1892 - see freebmd
