Well I see from the marriage record that they married on 30th December 1826 and both were of the parish of Brailes.

Although they were resident there it doesn't necessarily mean they were born there.

There are two witnesses names but judging by other entries on the page they look to be 'professional' witness who were available when required.

Have you searched baptisms in places surrounding Brailes?

Would you regard a baptism at Whichford as being too far away from Brailes?

There is one for a Henry Nash baptised 27 December 1801 at St Michael, Whichford.  Parents are Richard and Anne.

Hello
Have you looked at the Nash family in Brailes for earlier dates?
There is Charles nash/Naish and Ann Kirdall married 6.10.1771
Charles buried 21.1.1824 born 1745 of Winderden Brailes
Ann buried 22.10 1788

Children john 16.1.1774-21.1.1774
Elizabeth 12.2.1775
Sarah 9.2.1777
Mary 24.1.1779
Stephen 30.12 1781.

The last child Stephen is confirmed into the catholic church at the chapel in Brailes 1.8.1830

This seems to suggest the family were catholic and the children including Henry may have been christened at the catholic church in Brailes.
As there is only one son it looks like Stephen is his father.

Joseph and Elizabeth Dumbleton?Doumbleton  were protestants(but baptised at RC Chapel). and the only couple with children at Brailes  for the same date for Catherine. You could check Birmingham RC diosese.
They had one son Joseph at the catholic chapel in 1811.

Hello
Ciderdrinker again.A bit of a oops moment here.
I've found Stephen Nash's burial in Batsford in 1836 and he leaves a Will.A PCC Will.
I Stephen Nash servant of the parish of Batsford in the Cty of Gloucestershire on the 18th January 1831 do devise that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid and the residue of my estate to be divided between my two nephews Henry Nash labourer of Brailes and Thomas Coles labourer of Cosgrove  in the Cty of Northamptonshire and Ann whose maiden name was West(not sure how she is the nephew).I also give and bequeth to the nephew Thomas Coles my best great coat and watch.
Stephen makes his mark.
Proved 25th March 1836.

He was buried the 1st of Feb 1836 age 56.

So Stephen's nephew not son.
Thomas Coles  is on the 1861 census born 1820 Cosgrove.
bapt 13 June 1819 to James and Elizabeth Coles.
They married at Cosgrove 5 Aug 1798. Wit William Duncourt and Elizabeth Davies.
Both of this parish.

So Henry's mother must be Mary or Sarah Nash.

Possible death for Sarah at Shipston on Stour Mar 1838 (no age given on GRO)
Of course either  could have married after Henry's birth.
Sorry I just can't crack which one it is.

No probs with the OOps moment
So If John 1774-1774 (Infant death?) was the only boy on the list as possible Brother of Stephen maybe another boy was born after him being Henry's Father?
Or am I going wrong?
JH

Hello
Sorry I can't see another son (I tried all children in Brailes with a father called Charles and no surname 1781-1801)so it looks like Henry must be the son of Sarah or Mary .Perhaps they were away in service ,got pregnant and returned home to have the baby.

But if Charles and Ann remained in Brailes ,which they did because they are buried there, there weren't any more children.
I know it's not what you want to hear.
You know you have the right family at least.

Sorry
