Finding death age for Joseph Fenton Johnson died 28 Aug 1916 New Jersey
« on: Saturday 13 January 18 15:58 GMT (UK) »
There is an entry in the England & Wales National Probate Calendar:  Joseph Fenton Johnson of 4 Station Square Rutherford Bergen New Jersey died 28 August 1916 Administration (with Will limited) London 26 June to Wyndham Theodore Vint Solicitor the attorney of Mary Agneta Johnson. Effects £256 11s 3d.

Buried Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, King's County, New York, Lot 24970, Section 201.

I do not know how to find out his age at death.  Green-Wood Cemetery offer research but at $30 an hour.

I am hoping this is the same person who was born in 1847, son of Thomas & Elizabeth Johnson, in Chorlton, Lancashire, England, and who married Sophia Richards in 1883 in Ontario, Canada.

Looking at the solicitor mentioned: From London Gazette 4 Jan 1924: Dissolving of partnership.  Charles John Vint, Frank Herbert Hill, Henry Killick & Wyndham Theodore Vint in partnership called Vint, Hill & Killick, Solicitors, Bradford, to be carried on in same name but without Henry Killick.

It seems hopeful as Ardwick, where JFJ was brought up, is about 40 miles from Bradford.

Thanks for that hanes teulu, not the age I was hoping for!  Does the census entry state country of birth, please?

Makes things more complicated in some ways as there is a marriage 2 Nov 1876 Manhattan for Joseph Fenton Johnson age 43 and Susan Maria Angell 37.  If JFJ wasn't English, why appoint a solicitor in Bradford to administer his Will?

The plot thickens....
