No answers yet, just questions:
Have you found Reginald on the 1939 register and, if so, was he with any family?
What is the last trace you have of Reginald (maybe we can work backwards)
Did Reginald have any children (to look for mother's surname)

Philip
Please help me to help you by citing sources for information.

Hello All,
Thanks for the assistance. Reginald was the son of Samuel James Armstrong & Caroline Amy (nee Rainbow) Armstrong of Goldington, Bedford. Does the Ancestry info say the same? I'm not an Ancestry member these days.
Cheers,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Just noticed your post on this website which I have never heard of, my grandfather was Jack Armstrong although  I never knew him he was married to my grandmother Jean Eleanor Armstrong who passed away in her 30s.

Are you related to Reginald.
My Name is Julie Greer from Australia

Hello Julie,
We both share a common ancestor, namely Thomas Armstrong b1787 in Cople, Beds. From there we eventually trace back to John Armstrong who died in Riseley, Beds in 1727. The vast majority of over 500 on our pedigree from 1700 onwards were in Beds, with  a good proportion in various London boroughs. You probably know about our NZ , S African & Canadian lot? In Oz, We have some in Williamstown, Victoria
I've DNA tested several branches who I link to in the 1700s, and we match perfectly. Our non-English DNA matches are all from Scotland or Ulster.
I've contacted the majority of the branches on my tree, and wondered if the Rugby branch were thriving. It appears you are!
Cheers,
Bob
