If (and only if) the Joseph and Sarah on the 1900 census in St Louis are correct, they were married for 37 years - which suggests a marriage around 1863 (before they arrived in the US).

We all know that census information is not an exact science.  Married 1863 and only one birth in 1879 would be a little strange - would it not  ???

Lots of back ground information that was not given in the original post.  It is always best to link previous topics on the same subject - it saves a lot of duplication.

Hmmmm.

As the previous threads show Joseph Bayles WINTER married Frances JOSEPH in 1861 and Eliza YOUD in 1867 (in Merthyr?) that rules out the Joseph B WINTER I found in St Louis, Missouri.

I would recommend that new replies be made on the thread started in 2014

If the poster is looking for immigration help, then the USA board would have been the correct one to ask the question - the poster should have given more information in that original post including the relevant links to back ground information in those previous threads.

Hi all,
Firstly thank you all for the information and input received so far. As I stated wasn't sure if I was in the right group or not, also apologies for not supplying enough information.
The info that I have so far is as follows:-

No birth certificate as born pre registration.
1st  - 1861 Census living Tramroadside South, Merthyr Tydfil
2nd - Marriage to Francis Joseph 7th April 1861 in Merthyr Tydfil.
Francis Joseph died in the 3rd quarter 1866
3rd - Marriage to Eliza Youd 30th September 1867 in Treherbert.
Then disappears.

I hope this will help.
Thank you all,
Retpara.

We have found the information now - on a previous thread.

Have you got the marriage certificates for the sons Thomas and George ?

Hi Sandra,
Thank you for your help. Yes I have the marriage certificate for Thomas Winter, whom was my gt grandfather. George as i recall never married and the two brothers were both killed together in the 1894 Albion Pit Disaster.
I have all my family history from Thomas Winter, but unable to locate Joseph Bayles Winter.
Thank you again,
Retpara.

What details did the marriage certificate (of Thomas Winter)  give with regard to his father ?
