Yes oddly the baptism which I was about to post has no mention of Brown just shows 14th June 1862 Biddulph St Lawrence Charles occ Collier Mother Frances

1871 for Richard's parents.
RG10; Piece: 3702; Folio: 48; Page: 15
Christ Church Biddulph Moor

Charles Brown   28   coal miner   Biddulph
Fanny Brown   27                     Biddulph

Of course, the census was just one night and it could be that Richard wasn't actually living with his grandparents but was just staying overnight.

You're right.

Oh, I am puzzled. Could Fanny be short for Frances? No surnames in the text ? what's the source if I may ask?

Interesting - he is described as son in that one.

1871   RG10; Piece: 3702; Folio: 49; Page: 17
Christ Church Biddulph Moor

David Bailey    head         57  stone mason
Sarah Bailey    wife          57
Richard Bailey  son           9
John Bailey      grandson   7

I think there is a mistake : Richard's not son but grandson . Who are John's parents? Did David and Sarah have several children?  I still cannot find anything on Familysearch though I have an account.

Yes Fanny is short for Frances.

1881 his parents are still nearby, doesn't look as if there are any more children.
