Craven Rushbearings of North Yorkshire
« on: Tuesday 16 January 18 04:45 GMT (UK) »

Dear Friends, any info on Craven Rushbearings sports will be highly appreciated. Thanks. Ruslan

"Hetton Rushbearing, as the annual Feast was called, is now hardly remembered, and has been substituted by annual sports, held about the middle of July, when wrestling matches,
races, &c , take place, but these, however, have now almost died out. The population is decreasing".

Google "Rush Bearing. Alfred Burton". He has written a book on the subject. (Sorry, I'm not skilled enough to give you the link)
