Unknown couple, possibly Warwickshire, England
« on: Tuesday 16 January 18 16:59 GMT (UK) »
Hi peeps

Have just received this photo via email and I have no information as to its size, weight of paper, anything on the reverse etc.  Just what you can see.

The photo was found in a relative's house, so it could be that the couple (engaged or married - she is wearing a ring  ;) ) could be relatives too.

If anyone would hazard a guess at the date of the photo, it might help me ID them.

Thanks
STG

My guess: Edwardian, early to mid. Hard to judge their ages closely but I'd guess people born somewhere in the 1870s.

I think she looks quite young - anything from late teens to early 20s. He looks  older - 25 minimum (if he has had a hard life), but if you had shown me that photo of just him with no context I would have said he was 30 to 40.  :)

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Thanks peeps and to dobfarm for removing the lady's black eye.

No names instantly springing to mind as to who they could be. Maybe if I think about it for a while something will come to me 🙄

Had a bit of a think and wonder if there is any possibility that these couples could be the same people?

The black/white image on the right is from abt 1927, if that helps.

Thanks

I think it's highly likely that you have a match.
