Izzards of Wallington Hertfordshire & Boddington Northamptonshire?

I have traced my ancestors back to Boddington Northamptonshire mostly using the 1708 - 1800's Boddington Registers. No Izzard was recorded until 1725 when a Robert Izzard married an Elizabeth Basely. This is where my search ended until I discovered a Robert Izzard born in Wallington Hertfordshire to parents John and Elizabeth in 1694. He would have married at the age of 31. My question is did this Robert travel to Boddington to find his beloved Elizabeth? or ... please fill in the blanks. I thank you all for jumping on this one. Records in the 17th century are as scarce as hens teeth!

Not sure about that baptism in Wallington as I can see a marriage in Rickmansworth Hertfordshire in 1715 of a Robert Izzard - geographically and time wise I think would fit better with the Wallington man

However there is a baptism much closer to home in Shotteswell ( about 10 miles from Boddington) that is possibly your man.

Robert Izzard baptised 11 Dec. 1692 at Shotteswell son of Samuel and Dorothy.

It is interesting that given some families followed naming patterns - Robert named a son Samuel.

There is also a Will dated 1731 for Samuel Izzard of Shotteswell- sadly doesn't state where Robert is living but does name him along with a brother Samuel & sister Dorothy.

Any way to rule out that Robert did indeed come from Boddington? Is there a late 1600's Boddington register that may show his baptism there? If he was not born in Boddington then Shotteswell is a strong candidate. As you say he may have named his son after his father. There is a Dorothy as well in the family who would have been a grand daughter.
