« on: Wednesday 17 January 18 11:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi all looking for the parents for Robert Banks Smith born abt 1796 Eagle Lincolnshire probably baptised 1798 he married Eliza Bush in 1833, It has come up with a John Smith & Susanna as the parents was wondering if someone could check this marriage to see if it may be the right one a John Smith to Susanna Banks 1785 St Peters At The Arches, Lincoln, England date seems good and Roberts middle name would sit nicely with Susanna's maiden name if anyone could have a look and give me their opinion please. Hi

The couple married by license and does mention he was from the parish of Kirton in Holland which is where the baptism of their son took place.

They couple also had another son of the same name baptised and buried in 1791

Yes this is the correct one. All male descendants until my father carried Banks as a middle name, and the girls carried the middle name Bush, after Eliza Bush. I am directly descended from your couple via the male line, being the granddaughter of Joseph Banks Smith. My father was the first male descendant to not carry the Banks name. This was because his father was orphaned as a young boy, and he therefore had no knowledge of the family history. Could I ask if you are related to the family or helping someone who is?
