Yes, thanks the one I posted at reply #4, hallmark.

I think the occupation ‘Calf jobber’ could translate to ‘cattle dealer’.

Thanks for the Loughrea information  :)

Norah’s birth was registered in Tuam though.

I am trying to help build the Fox/Creaven family tree. Thomas Fox was married to Nora Creaven in Dublin on 4th Jan 1918. We are trying to find information on her life from this point.
Her father was Patrick Creaven born 1871 and her mother was Ellen Creaven (Born Reilly)
Tom and Nora's marriage certificate states that Patrick was a cattle dealer and he lived on Ballygaddy Road, Tuam, Co. Galway.

Any help from the Creaven side of the family would be much appreciated.

I didn’t think you posted the marriage details originally. :-\ that is why I posted them so we would know who we were looking for.
Have you not searched for Patrick and Ellen previously then?
The certificate shows the bride and groom’s residence at the time of marriage, not their fathers.
Or at least that’s usually the case but your couple married in Dublin for some reason so you would think they had a Dublin address.

One only had to live in a Parish a very short time to marry in that Parish, think it was 15 days.
