Old Nerolon Suffolk Where is it please ?
« on: Wednesday 17 January 18 14:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to trace an ancestor John Cooper and in looking at Find My past which seems to be on of the best sources for Suffolk research none of the baptisms seem to be anywhere near Hundon where he spent most of his life. There is however one baptism in 1747 and the transcript reads place of birth as Old Nerolon, but I dont seem to be able to find such a place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

David

It's probably Old Newton.

See the parish list from Suffolk FHS http://suffolkfhs.co.uk/files/Web_Parishes_Deaneries_sorted_by_Parish_on_CD_Jan_2018.pdf

Hi Shaun

Thanks for the hejp, again that is too far away from Hundon. Ji seem to have great difficulty in tracing my ancestors in Suffolk. there seems to be many parishes not online with Ancestry, Find my Past and family search, are there any county based resources online I van look at please ?

Many thanks

David

I would agree with Shaun that it probably refers to Old Newton, that is about 20 miles from Hundon. Hundon is though close to the Essex border and not far from the Cambridgeshire border, so have you looked at both of those?
