James Griffin fiscal of Wigtown died 1776

The Wigtown Burgh minutes of 19 October 1776 record the recent passing of James Griffin and the necessity to immediately appoint a successor to the office of Fiscal.

Does anyone have any further information on James or has a connection to him?
