Hi,

Have you considered that "traveller" may be a travelling salesman, or such, as opposed to the polite description of "gypsey"? It could be like a milk or bread server who was not a waiter serving the milk or bread in a restaurant but the deliverer of the item to homes etc. ie; milkman.
