Ellen Power was a publican in Ballinspittle in the 1920s/30s - but which pub?

Hi - help needed in finding a pub!

The back of a photograph from an album from the Irish side of my family says ‘Mrs. Power, The Pub, Ballinspittle, Co. Cork’.  The photograph is from the 1920s or early 1930s.

The 1911 census has an Ellen Power as a publican in Ballinspittle. Trade directories for the next couple of decades or so list Ellen Power as ‘grocer, vintner and car owner’.  At least a couple of the directories list Mrs E Power under the ‘Hotels’ heading. I’m assuming it is the same Ellen Powell in all the entries.

Just to satisfy my curiosity about Ellen Power (who is not an ancestor of mine), I would love to know the name and address of the pub/hotel. The first column in the 1911 census ‘House and Building Return’

has the heading ‘No. of House or Building’. Ellen Power’s pub is 17.

I am at an early stage of my research of Irish records and would like to know if ‘17’ is the actual building number or simply the 17th building that the enumerator listed. If it actually was no. 17, where was that? I looked around Ballinspittle on Google Street View, but could not spot any house numbers!

I tried to generally match the buildings with those on enumerator’s return using the post office and the court house as ‘markers’, but that didn’t produce anything conclusive.

So … can anybody help on this?

Page 2 of the house hold return tells you 17 is a form number.

Her death cert doesn't help, died 1936 so the photo has to be before that.

You can also learn from the house and building return that the pub had 6 windows at the front.
Sometimes it can help to compare the 1911 with the 1901 buildings return.

I've only done this sort of thing with towns I know and even than it's not easy.

It is quite likely that the pub would be called ‘Powers’.

Before marriage, Ellen was a Kiely by the looks of this census
