I'm trying to find the location of this picture as it was in my fathers possession and I would like to know who is in it and where it might have been taken.  Cant help very much with date possibly 1930's

Stonework looks North of England .
Where was your father living in the 1930's?

It looks seaside like. Obvious first hought is Blackpool - I'm not sure if her headwear was fashionable in particular areas. Reminds me of somone from Corrie.  :D

I think later than 1930s. 50s? He is wearing badge and (army?) ribbons perhaps, so maybe post WW2?

There is a name on the terrace behind which Is not clear. Is it possible for you to get a better scan?

Her headwear is certainly reminiscent of Lancashire. There is a Cafe Royal in Bispham, Blackpool.

I thought 40s when I saw it...agree with Ruskie that he is wearing medal ribbons and what looks like what could be a silver war badge.

It does look like "east", but I think I can also see the word as "cafe" (I wondered if it was the menu?).. :-\

Just my first impression.  I can see now it could be something on the cafe menu.
It does look like an "O" as in Toast or Coast.
