George Barnes - Poole, Dorset
« on: Saturday 20 January 18 14:06 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Posting here now since the lineage has gone back to Dorset.
Didn't order all certificates which are possible yet but will do.

Based on the existing data on other trees, they all stop at George Barnes born around 1796 Poole, Dorset. He was listed on census with family at 11 United Buildgs, Mary Le Bone, Middlesex, England in 1851.

Had at least one son, Robert Barnes born 1822 (Poole?). Married Jane Wright  in Saint James, Paddington, London, England at 19 September 1842.  They are listed on 1851 census at Thomas Street, Kensington, Middlesex, England. They at least one daughter,  Mary Ann Barnes(1846) and one son George Barnes (5 September 1848 Marylebone, Middlesex, England).

George Barnes (1848) married Kensington, London, England 1868 to Martha Emma Elizabeth Harrison. They are at 31 St Katherine RD, Kensington, London, England in 1881 and 5 Mortimer Place, Hammersmith, London, England in 1891.

They had: son George Barnes in 4th April 1870–
daughter Charlotte Barnes in 1871–1938
son Albert Barnes 1873–
daughter Elizabeth Barnes 1876–
son Henry Barnes 1878–
daughter Alice Barnes 1879–

George Barnes married Sarah Garland 1896 Kensington, London, England. 1911 Census they are at 20. Boxmoor Street, Hammersmith, London, England.

Percival Henry Barnes 1898
Florence Emily M Barnes 1900
William Barnes 1903
Edward Barnes 1904
Sophia Robina Barnes 1906
Lillie Barnes 1909

Could this be George Barnes the currently furthest known ancestor? More likely as the father name is Robert? There is another thread but this should be all the information required.

I have Robert Barnes (1822) listed as shoe maker.

I haven't seen the marriage certificate to prove if George Barnes (the father of Robert) was also a shoe maker?

I'm still searching for baptism of Robert Barnes (1822) or to find marriage of George Barnes as I don't know the mother's name.

It is George Barnes (circa 1796) who was the one which I think I found a baptism
Name:    George Barnes
Event Type:    Baptism
Baptism Date:    8 Apr 1798
Baptism Place:    Poole, Dorset, England
Father:    Robert Barnes
Mother:    Ann Barnes

As he named his son Robert Barnes and looks like another daughter Ann then this could be the correct baptism for him? They aren't rare names though.

Then if that is the correct baptism then this marriage could be correct?

Ann Galton married Robert Barnes on 27 November 1791 in Hampreston, Dorset. I think there was another Ann I found too though, I'm checking again.

That baptism for George looks promising

This looks to be Ann with husband

Ann Smith   30 Poole Dorset

I've been looking to see if I could find George, Robert & Ann on 1841 census but not come up with anything  :-\

Don’t know if this entry might relate to your George
