Searching for Jane Mary Bendall
« on: Sunday 21 January 18 07:12 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I am wondering if someone is able to help me track down the parents of Jane Mary Bendall who married Thomas Waldrom on 11 April 1847 at St Luke, Chelsea. Her father's name was James. Going by the 1851 census, she was born 1811; the 1861 census 1815. Going by her death (in NZ) in 1925, she was born in 1834 - which would make for a very young marriage indeed! Perhaps she was born by around 1830. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you been unable to find her in the 1841 census?

What was the occupation of her Father from the marriage information?

Added:
Just to add that the 1851 and 1861 have her born Kensington.

I haven't found her in 1841. Father's occupation looks to be gardener.

One of her children is:
Sophia Thompson Waldrom mmn Bendall born March quarter 1850 in Kensington, Paddington and Fulham
so there might be a Thompson as Jane's Mother's maiden name.

Don’t know yet if this helps, but one of the marriage witnesses was a George Thompson

Checking further, I have found that Jane Mary Waldrom (nee Bendall) died age 57 in 1869 - the one who died in 1925 must be a second wife to Thomas Waldrom. Her death notice in the Hawkes Bay Times 12 Aug 1869 reads: At the residence of her son in law, Meanee, on the 10th of August, Jane Mary Bendall, daughter of the late Mr James Bendall of Kensington,  and wife of Mr Thos Waldrom, late of North End, Fulham, Middlesex, England.
