"Red Willow Reflections"
« on: Sunday 21 January 18 11:00 GMT (UK) »
Bit of a long shot I know, but do any of you lovely Rootchatters have a copy of this book?  Published in 1981 and is about the early settlers in the Red Willow area of Alberta.

Just wondering if my great-uncle, Joseph Franklin Weaving (aka Joe), is mentioned.

thank you

A search of the TAL cataloque reveals that the Medicine Hat Library, Pincher Creek Library and the Vulcan Library should all have a copy of this book.  Also the W.R. Castell Libarary, Calgary.
I checked the Medicine Hat cataloque and the book is listed.  Perhaps a request to a library for a look up in the book is a good move.  I find library staff usually quite accommodating.

An old message board post - 2001 - - someone who had borrowed the book from a relative - might be worth trying the e-mail address - even though it is many moons ago.

Google has a cached page for Alberta Genweb of an index of people from the book you mention, and there is a Joe Weaving listed (no other Weavings are listed). It is merely a list of names, so there is no way to know just how much is mentioned about him.

I doubt this link will work for you as the cached page is tied to my browser (firefox mozilla):
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:vzBxVVbDCj4J:rootsweb.ancestry.com/~abarchiv/stettler-bookindex-redwillow.html+&cd=8&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca&client=firefox-b

If it doesn't work, search on google for red willow alberta joe weaving alberta genweb and you should see this for the first hit:

Red Willow Reflections - Alberta GenWeb Digital Archives
rootsweb.ancestry.com/~abarchiv/stettler-bookindex-redwillow.html

At the end of the second line there is a small triangle, pointed down.  Click on that symbol, and a little box saying CACHED pops up, which when clicked, will take you to Googles cached version.

Keep in mind that cached pages aren't stored for long!
