Thomas Evans and Mary Thorne
« on: Monday 22 January 18 01:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am hopeful that someone may be able to help with the ancestry of Thomas Evans (born 1804; died 1856) and his wife, Mary Thorne (born 1805; died 1880), both of England.
They had a child, James Thomas Evans, who was born in England in 1831 and died in Benalla, Australia, in 1896. He married Elizabeth Griffiths, who was born in England in 1835 and, I believe, died in Wales in 1905.
I would love to find the parents of Thomas Evans and his wife, Mary Thorne, if possible.
I would also like to find the parents of Elizabeth Griffiths, as I no nothing about her or her lineage.
Thank you.

Using the GRO. facility - checking the birth of Matilda who was born in the 1st Qtr. 1851 Bedminster, mothers maiden surname was SULLIVAN. So the transcription of 10 months in the census would possibly be 10 weeks.

Found this marriage in the London & Surrey collection

St Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey 19 September 1836

Thomas Griffiths bachelor married Sarah Sullivan

Thomas Griffiths left his mark in the register
Sarah Sullivan signed.

Witnesses: John Whi ? ? and Wm. Erwins

What is the source of your information about the origins of James Thomas EVANS, d. 1896, and wife Elizabeth GRIFFITHS.

Where and when did they marry?

Can you list all the information on the death certificate, 1896.
