Looking for ancestors of Adam Daniel Heare(Nov. 12, 1760-April 8, 1816)
« on: Monday 22 January 18 03:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I’ve reached a dead end in my research into my 3rd great grandfather Adam Daniel Heare. I know he was born in County Cork but don’t know which town. He came to America in 1776 to supposedly avoid joining the British Army. Does anyone have any info about his parents, grandparents, etc. I would also love to connect with any of his descendents still living in Ireland. Thanks!

Hi,
Well, the only info I can find on Adam Daniel is in the USA.
In the Tithe records for Ireland, 1823 to 1837 there are HEARE people in County Cork in a place called Glamuirk (townland), Castlelyons (Parish), this is south of Formoy, find Cork city on the map and head north on the M8 for Formoy, you will see Rathcormack, then Castlelyons is on the right.
There was a David and a Timy (Timothy) this was in 1824.
Also an Elizth in Gillabbey, St Finbar's ( this is on the south side of Cork city) no date on this may be prior to 1823.
In Griffiths Valuation 1837 to 1864, shows 4 Heare people, County Cavan, County Dublin, County Tipperary (in the North Riding) and County Waterford.
The irishgenealogy.ie site non listed for County Cork.
With the spelling O'Heare not many show and none in Cork.
I hope this is a help for you.

Were you able to find Adam Heare's parents?  He is my 5th great grandfather and I have been unable to trace anything further back.
