World War 2 Royal Navy Service Records
« on: Monday 22 January 18 15:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi
This is my first post so be gentle!

I have been researching my Dads War records to actually find out what he did in the War, he didn't talk about it much like a lot of veterans. He was an able seaman in Combined Operations and did a lot of training at Landing Craft shore bases preparing for D-Day (see attachments) My problem is what he did on D-Day June 6, his record just says Duty! for the period.

Has anyone any ideas?
Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat, you will find plenty of people to help you.

Service records for people serving post 1920 are still with the MOD, there is a £30 charge for them, the information is on the website.

Sorry about that, I was trying to act quickly as my iPad battery was about to run out. Hopefully someone will come up with the information you want.
