The first photo was 6 months prior to him going missing ( the colour photp)
The black and white photo is a sketched photo of the body they found.

Do you have a clearer photo of him, or can this one be rescanned or improved?

Ruskie the same thing crossed my mind because of the refusal to help. It is entirely possible that you're correct.

Ruskie the same thing crossed my mind because of the refusal to help. It is entirely possible that you're correct.

We might have some police officers who are rootschatters who may have knowledge of the processes involved with identifying missing persons, and maybe have some suggestions as to why Michael was fobbed off.

I think the authorities would require more proof than the very indistinct coloured photo posted here, (or even the passport photo), and a drawing of a deceased man. They may have more detailed photographs for example which would not be publicly shown?

The reason I suggest this is that many many years ago I overheard someone on public transport ranting some details and accusations about a well publicised unsolved local murder. I informed the police but they seemed very dismissive and not really interested which I was surprised about. It transpired that a couple of weeks later they made an arrest so already had a suspect in mind, and what I had heard was irrelevant nonsense.

Sorry Michael I couldn't read that it is far too large.
I've rung an ex policeman from that time and he said records were kept until the person was identified.

Does someone much cleverer than me know how to reduce the size of that last image?  ;) :)

So before reading the reply Michael received, it looks like the deceased person must have been identified?
