Rugby Marriage
« on: Wednesday 24 January 18 15:39 GMT (UK) »
Lucy Jane Cockerill married Robert Ramsay on 9 March 1883 at St Matthews Church, Rugby. His occupation says Chemist, his fathers name is also Robert Ramsay.
I don't know where he is from and I can't find them on any census after that date.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your help
The Ramsays look a wealthy family maybe they all went back to Australia.
Lucy Jane Cockerill was a teacher at a private school.  I wandered whether they both taught at Rugby School, thats the only private school I know in the area and Robert Ramsay was well educated if he went to Cambridge University.

It looks like Robert Christian Ramsay married Olive Zillah Voss 23 October 1907 in Queensland, Australia. They had Norman Ian 1915  Olive Joan 1916  Diane Patricia 1918 and David Malcolm 1924
They are on board a passenger ship in 1925 leaving Liverpool for Sydney.
So what happened to Lucy Jane and Lizzie?

looks probable then that the death I gave earlier is Lucy Jane although the father's name is not consistent

would be interesting to see if Robert Christian Ramsay was shown as a widower or divorced when he married in October 1907

Cambridge University Alumni, 1261-1900 does not mention an earlier marriage

There is a wedding photograph of Robert Christian Ramsay's wedding to Olive Zillah Voss in 1907 in someones family tree on Ancestry. The marriage certificate states he was a bachelor.
So I think I am on the wrong trail and need to continue looking for Lucy Jane and Robert Ramsay
