Henry and Thomas Heat of Withyham
« on: Friday 26 January 18 21:18 GMT (UK) »
Is anyone able to check the parish registers of Withyham or the neighbouring parishes for the christenings of Henry Heat and Thomas Heat probably between 1700 and 1740?

In particular I'm keen to find Henry's christening and I think he was probably born in the 1730s as he was married in 1753.

The surname might also be spelt Heath, Heet, or Hait.

Thanks

Matt

Have looked at the SFHG baptisms for St. Michael & All Angels, Withyham and there are no baptisms for Heath/Heat/Heet/Hait for the period 1700-1740.  St. John, Withyham records start at 1869 and those for All Saints, Blackham are not online.

Did a quick search for Henry on the SFHG database and nothing shows up either amongst the baptisms anywhere.

Thanks for that. I had checked on Familysearch but found no entries on there either for any reference to the Heat surname in the same period. Perhaps they were born in a neighbouring parish.

Thanks again

Matt

Ancestry doesn't have much either, these are the oly ones it listed:
Henry Heath 15 Aug 1726 Bosham West Sx
Henry Heet 02 Apr 1730 Stoughton West Sx
Henry Head 18 Feb 1727 Eastbourne East Sx
Henry Head 10 or 14 Apr 1734 Sellinge Kent
Henry Head 10 Jan 1720 Bethersden Kent
Henry Heath 01 Apr 1716 Hawkhurst Kent.

The last one might tie in with the Henry Heat that Ciderdrinker found buried at Withyham - Hawkhurst nearest the Withyham travel wise.

Hi

Thanks for that. I think this might be the one I'm after. This burial would seem to tie in with the christening of Henry Heat/Heath in Hawkhurst in 1716.
