Thomas Warnes
« on: Sunday 28 January 18 09:20 GMT (UK) »
hello

Thomas Warnes was born 1801 Caistor st Edmund in Norfolk and in 1822 marries Harriett Audress/Andress ?? sorry dont think either of these is the correct spelling . She is also born 1800/1801
Would love to learn about their parents.

Thomas and Harriet are on the 1841 census for Caistor. The family is shown as John 15,William 12,Thomas 10,George 6,Edward 6 and Mary 3. There was also an older child Henry b 1824 who latter marries a Harriet king in 1846.

I have not been able to find Thomas b 1801 on the 1851 census . The family seems to have split up after their mothers death in 1848.
I can find George and his brother Edward lodging with a Benjamin Hewett and family in Lower Caistor.

keen to know what happened to Thomas and who his parents were. There is a Death in q2 1842 Henstead which may be him.
Grateful for your help.
Many Thanks

The Henstead 1842 death of Thomas Warnes gives an age of 45 which is slightly out for an 1801 birth but of course it depends who registered it and what knowledge they had.

Just because Thomas is living in Caister St Edmund in 1841 it does not mean that he was born there. I would also be flexible with his date of birth as well because birth dates were rounded down in the 1841 Census.

Thomas and Harriet married in Kirby Bedon and FreeReg not only has the marriage but it also has a baptism for a Thomas Warne, born 29 August 1796 parents Benjamin and Mary nee Middleton.

Thats really interesting thank you and that baptism date would tie more closely in with that potential date of death.
