Great Great Grandmothers name
« on: Sunday 28 January 18 18:50 GMT (UK) »
Can somebody please help with name of a great great grandmother as shown in the 1851 census.
My great great grandfather is shown as William Henry Clark. The line under him is for his wife it cannot be read as the letters do not make a sensible name. The third line is his son also called William.

I have attached an image of the census writing.

Anybody's help would be greatly appreciated.

Name looks like Alfrede  :-\ and name above is William H. Clark (not William Henry Clark)
Can you give reference to the census record please.

William H. Clark was bc.1818 Maidstone and in 1861 he's in Newington with wife correctly shown as Ann.

Eanfrith, Anfrith, Alfrede or Elfrede = Ælfthryth

Ann (Ean) for short or Freda (alternate pronounced Fred or Freddie [Fred-de]- spelt Fredd or Frede)

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
