Portrane Historical Records

Hi New to Roots Chat
I am trying to find out about a Great Aunt who apparently was committed to Portrane. This is new information in my family research journey (as I was led to believe she died as a teenager). Her name is Mary Dowds born 13th April 1903, baptised 20th April. Father Alexander Earls Dowds, mother Annie Nunan. Family folklore says she was a nun but apparently this is now untrue and she was hidden from the family because of shame. Possibly she went to Alexandra College? I have no idea when she died but it is possible she lived into her 70's or 80's as a member of the family remembers her mother visiting Mary on a trip back to Ireland in 1972. And of course I have no idea where she may have been buried.
Thank you in advance

Welcome to RootsChat
I had a look but I can't see anything useful, I think the advice on this older thread still applies get in touch with the Health Service Executive

Older thread on the same subject

There was a couple of interesting articles on the Portrane

https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/people/hidden-stories-of-abandoned-mental-hospital-revealed-1.2715227

It seems possible she could have been buried in the hospital graveyard unless there was family to bring her to a family plot.
Could she have been a nun working in the hospital?

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.
