Just searching Powis House in the 1890's has references to a Professor Sorley and a Mrs Sorley in a few articles.

Thank you for the lead William. The Sorleys appear to have had twin boys b1895 and an older girl. They moved in to the house in 1896. The Burnetts moved in in 1901.

With all the help here, I'm now looking for who may have lived there between the 1891 census and the 1896 occupancy of the Sorleys.

You will find the Aberdeen Postal Directories for the period on the National Library of Scotland website. They might tell you, year by year, who occupied the house.

....Lamond died at Powis House on 16 Feb 1892 and left her estate to her only surviving sibling, Isabella Jane.

http://womenofscotland.org.uk/women/lamond-leslie

Wills & Testaments on SP have details for sister Helen in 1893 at Powis House, died there in August 1893. Isabella Jane Leslie must have died elsewhere as there is no further reference to the Leslies at Powis House after the death of Helen in 1893.

Thank you Monica and all.

I hoped that if I could figure out who lived at Powis House where my photo was taken that I would be able to match the ages of the children to the occupants. Apparently, that is not to be so & the people in the photo with my gg grandmother remain a mystery.

I very much appreciate all the time, effort. Thanks again.
