Burials of my grandfather & gt. grandfather

I am posting this on here as they lived in two different counties.
My gt. grandfather Lancelot Hoggarth born 1826, died aged 77 on 17th December 1903 at Plum Green, Colton, Lancashire.
Three days later his son, my grandfather, also called Lancelot Hoggarth born 1857, died aged 46 on the 20th December 1903 at Moor Green farm, Whitbeck, Cumberland.
The deaths were unconnected. It must have been a very difficult time for my grandmother living on a farm with seven children and just before Christmas.
I am unable to find any record of their burials. I suppose they might both have been buried at the same time as they only lived about 25 miles from each other.
I wonder if anybody can help me?

Lancelot Hoggarth age 77 was buried at Heversham, Westmoreland, on 19th Dec 1903.

Thank you Carol, I have been searching round Colton where he lived with Thomas another son. I should have remembered his wife Margaret is buried at Heversham along with a son aged 2 months.
His son Lancelot died the day after he was buried then, so not together.

I am just bumping this up the page to see if anybody can help with the burial of my grandfather in 1903. It appears his father was buried in Heversham (thankyou Carol) but Lancelot born in 1857 seems to be a complete mystery.
His wife Sarah Jane moved to Levens after his death and ran the Post Office there. She died many years later and is buried in Levens. I have seen her grave and they are not together.

I'm assuming that you have already checked burial at Whitbeck itself - St Mary

Have you seen the burial registers for the plots at Heversham and Levens? I've come across a couple of graves in my family for which the headstones don't tell the full story - not all occupants are obvious. Admittedly it would be unusual for there to be no memorial for a son buried with his parents, or a husband buried with his wife, but it's worth eliminating the possibility.

Also, if you can take a look at the register book itself, check neighbouring plots. I've come across members of the same family being buried 'next door', but with no memorial.

It might be worth checking local newspapers for death notices, which would normally give funeral details. The unusual circumstances surrounding both deaths might even have warranted an article being written.

Thank you everybody for your time. My cousin, who is also searching has checked the records for Whitbeck and I have checked newspaper archives with his name. I have now contacted Copeland Borough council to see if they can tell me of any burial records in  that area.
You would think somebody with an uncommon name like Lancelot Hoggarth, would be easy to find but this is obviously not the case.

I have found that the more unusual the name,the more likely the powers that be have mistranscribed it!
