Looking for information about Hans Stahlberg and family

Hi! My father had a brother, Hans Stahlberg, who migrated to Australia in 1946. For my fathers account I want to know as much as possible about him and his family down under.

Here's what we know so far:
Hans Stahlberg married Jean Elizabeth Walker in 1948.
They had a daughter who we think was named Barbara.

Jean Elizabeth died in 1959. We think it was from cancer.
Hans died in 1970 (or so). We don't know of what.

Barbara married and had a son. We don't know who she married or what name she took, and we don't know what they named their son.

Hans is buried in Springvale Botanical Cemetary.

Is anyone able to find any more information that we don't have?

It is a little strange that the death notice says Jean is the daughter of Mr and Mrs John WALKER whereas the death entry in Victoria BDM gives Jean’s parents as Leslie Robert WALKER and Gwenderline May (STEVENS)


I see Hans death registration is  under Carl Gosta STAHLBERG reg 15444 is that correct?

It is a lot that is weird with this. Why isn't the name of their daughter (Barbra Ann, sorry for the misunderstanding before) on the Mother's obituary? Why does the names of Jeanne's (Hans spells it like that in the handwritten mails we have from him) parents change? Why didn't Barbra know her father was dead when she visited Sweden 1971?

The only death notification I've seen on Hans says his name was Hans Stahlberg. Where did you see this other name? We lost contact with him, could he have changed name?

I have an old adress to them in Sydney, from around the time when Barbra was born. Would that help?

No that is not him. He was born in Sweden, 1923, by Oskar Emanuel Stålberg and Aivi (Skärberg).

Here is the adress they lived in between 1950 and when he stopped writing.

"309 Liverpool St, Darlinghurst, Sydney"

I have tried looking for his death registration on Victoria bdm using wildcards to catch spelling errors
Looked for a death in 1969 for ST*B* without finding anything other than above man

Also tried nsw bdm ...

It's a little bit weird cause I asked on Facebook in a group and they found him on online.justice.vic.gov.au, but there his death is registered in 1970.

Silly me - should have widened my search to include late registrations.  But away from home and my iPad is running out of charge so feeling rushed   

You could download his death cert historical image  and it *should* have his daughters name - perhaps even her married name.
