You might find something on GENUKI:

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Eglwysilan/TonyfelinWelshBaptist

If not, I should try the West Glamorgan Archives:

www.swansea.gov.uk/westglamorganarchives

I'm in the same boat with Llangfelach Parish Records:-(

And St Johns, Clydach...

Is there a present incumbent for the Parish that you can't find?

Hi Both,

I offer the following thoughts with some caution, I might well be wrong and am open to being proven wrong:

Surely records for Caerphilly are more likely to be held by 'Glamorgan Archives' which maybe held somewhere in the former South Glamorgan (Cardiff?) or Mid Glamorgan (Bridgend?)?

Secondly:

Romilly,
Whilst I can't help you with St Johns, Clydach, there has been a recent change of vicar here in Llangyfelach, I wonder if the new vicar is up to speed with family history research.

If you can indicate what information you are looking for, I'll see if I can help.

Cheers John.
Spent yesterday afternoon at Glamorgan Archives. No luck. Got a look at the 213 cards Rhymney Valley Manpower  Services produced in 1987 when the young people in their charge recorded the M.Is that GFHS used to produce their booklet. No BMD at all for Tonyfelin. All Ty Ardd in Bridgend have is the GFHS M.I. booklet.
Regards
Mike

Thanks John, - much appreciated.

My Great Grandfather Evan Rees (1836 - 1927) is Buried at St John's, Clydach. No headstone, and minimal Burial Records, and I think is now being sold off?

His Father, also Evan Rees was apparantly born in Llangyfelach in Approx 1810/1811. I can't find a Baptismal Entry for him. (I have his Marriage in 1830).

Where the Langyfelach Parish Records are is a mystery(!)

My Great Grandfather, my great great Grandfather, my great great great grandfather were all called Evan Rees.
Though how this will help me find the the chapel BMDs for Tonyfelin , Caerphilly  which was the purpose of this post is beyond me. So back to the plot  Tonyfelin chapel .The family history library for Caerphilly County borough is at the impressive Pentan Partnership designed Bargoed Library. I urge you to visit this amazing rebuild of a chapel . Sadly according to their online index there is no BMDs for Tonyfelin  there. The search continues......
