Death of Walter Orbell
« on: Thursday 01 February 18 13:49 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help with a mystery?
Newspaper article dated 12th July 1916 in Bury Free Press
report on Walters death describes him as Soldier Orbell. I can find no record at all of him ever being a soldier.
Any ideas please?
Many thanks

Walter Orbell bap 20 Nov 1842 Risby , St Giles, parents Ambrose and Elizabeth. I can't see any Military records fitting this birthdate. Perhaps it was a nickname ?
