Frederick james Blackwill Cow Inn

Hi. According to the 1911 census, my great grandfather Frederick James Blackwill was the licensed victualler at the Cow Inn, Old Sodbury. On the transcription it just says 'Cow Inn' but on the image it says 'Red Cow' My question, would this be the same pub or is it an error. They both say Old Sodbury. Can anyone clear this up for me? There is a newspaper article -

Western Daily Press 21 September 1907

F J Blackwill, Red Cow, Old Sodbury was charged with permitting drunkenness.

Therefore it would appear that the Blackwill family are living at the Red Cow Inn rather then Cow Inn.

Sorry JJ but I still can't find it. Can we assume that the cow inn and red cow inn are 2 different pubs in Old Sodbury? It's just that I've seen a photo of the cow inn somewhere online. Thanks again

Found it JJ. I omitted the 'inn' in the search and there it was. Wonder how long he was there! Are there any trade directories online for that period? Thanks again

There is Kelly's Directory of Gloucestershire, 1914 but have been unable to find Red Cow Inn Old Sodbury. Equally the name Blackwill does not appear.

In 1914 the licensee of the Red Cow Inn was Thomas Downs, therefore the Blackwill family would have moved on.

Looking further at newspaper articles it would appear that the Red Cow Inn was also referred to as Cow Inn. I'm of the opinion that it was called the Red Cow Inn but shortened occasionally to Cow Inn. The 1901 records the inn as Cow Inn  (Gaunt family).
