Tipton comes under Dudley registers on the BMD Tipton is in Staffordshire and Dudley wobbles between Staffordshire and Worcestershire - just to confuse you  ;D

The Rogers don't seem to be very quick off the mark with their baptisms either

Thanks Willow for confusing me even more  :D
I stay along the coast in South Africa, and the small town also run into each other. You ride along thinking you still in one town and next thing you know you have entered another. And they all look the same.  :-\

Might have found Sarah in the 1841 census down as Corbitt on Ancestry

Brickhill or Birchill Street, Tipton

Edward Corbett 30 Blacksmith
Susannah Corbett 30
Sarah Corbett 10
George Corbett 6
Jabez Corbett 4
Thomas Corbett 15m

all listed as not born in county except Thomas

HO107/982/4

Sarah is a servant in 1851 so I will look for the rest of the family

Thanks Willow

I have a problem with Sarah's children's names. If she named them following the naming pattern then the fathers names on the marriage record have not been given to the sons. Even the children her and Edward had in South Africa ?

Their first child was Ann Elisa born abt 1852
then Hannah Elizabeth b. abt 1854
then Thomas b. abt. 1856
Joseph Francis b. 1857
Then comes William Henry Harvey Rogers b. 23 Mar 1863 in Durban South Africa
John Rogers b. 20 Jun 1865 Durban South Africa
Mary Jane Rogers b. 1866 Durban
Alfred Rogers b.16 Oct 1868 Durban
Arthur Rogers b. 5 Nov 1870 Pretoria.

Edward Rogers came to South Africa 24 May 1859 • Durban, Natal, South Africa on the ship " Lady of the Lake"

Sarah Corbett came with three children Ann, Joseph and Elizabeth on the 17 Jun 1861 Arrived on the ship 'Barbadous" in Durban.

Jabez died 1846

Had better luck on the 1881 census

57 Coppice Street Tipton

Edward Corbett 74 born Dudley Worcs Blacksmith
Susannah Corbett 74 born Dudley Worcs

George might be living next door married to Patience

Willow Richard Rogers and Rebecca look promising.

And I am still leaning towards Edward Corbett 30 Blacksmith
Susannah Corbett 30 as Sarah Corbett's parents.

Another thing here was a Thomas Corbett age 20 traveling with Sarah to South Africa, this could be her brother?
