Last Resting Place
« on: Friday 02 February 18 22:18 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Can anyone help me find the last resting place of Harold Walsh Lilly. Harold died in 1917, in Southport. He originally came from Manchester.
                     Many Thanks

His actual place of residence when he died on the 22nd March 1917 was 5, Stanley Avenue, Birkdale, Lancashire. Have you tried cemeteries close to that?

Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

Or Liverpool rd usually called Birkdale cemetary, opened 1903,  there is an RC cemetary across the road.

Duke st and birkdale are huge, you would need a plot and map to find them

There's a Family History help desk at the Library some days, in Southport, apparently?

Many thanks for the information and suggestions. Harold had several siblings, and  they were usually buried or cremated in their native Manchester. Of course, this doesn't mean that Harold wasn't buried in Southport. I will keep searching.
                            Best Wishes

Do you know where Mabel was buried in 1956? She died in Manchester.
