Her marriage cert is dated 14 Dec 1824, and interestingly her name is Mary "FLETCHER" crossed out and replaced with "TICKTON" , and her age "22" crossed out and replaced with "17".

The Mary 3 left London in June 1823 and arrived Tasmania October 1823.

The account of her trial at the Old Bailey makes for sad reading (as is so often the case!) - sentenced to death at age 15 for stealing a pocket book and banknote.  :o

I see a number of family trees on Ancestry which claim that the daughter Mary Ann married Henry MUNDY in 1847 but this seems unlikely.  That Ann was probably the daughter of Edward HOWE who died in 1852 and was formerly of Uffculme in Devon.

Do you know where/who the daughters married?

Margaret was admitted to the orphan school in 1837 and discharged to the infirmary in 1853.

Yes, there is an article in Volume 25 No1 June 2004 (page 155) of the "Tasmanian Ancestry" published by the Tasmanian Family History Society, where the originator of this mistake admits her error.

Thanks for your reply. Alas, do not know her parents names.  There are not many TICKERTONs in Britain.
