Sarah Armstrong
« on: Monday 05 February 18 09:59 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find my GG grandmother Sarah Armstrong. She appears on the 1911 census, married, so now Sarah Christy, aged 33 at Curragh Military Camp with 2 children, one of whom is my grandmother. Religion stated as CofE.  She'd married 7 years previously.

The census says she was from Cavan, but nothing more specific. I've found a birth registration for a Sarah Jane Armstrong, Jan-March quarter of 1879 in Cavan, but I've no idea if this could be her but it seems likely.

I've looked at the 1901 census but as I've no idea where she was living by then I'm struggling. No sign of her marriage to Alfred Christy (Christie) either.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks

BG :)

Wow, thank you so much, that's excellent, so that gives me more clues to track down her family :)

And Sarah in 1901:

Which makes sense, as she was later married by her employer.

That Sarah J looks to be married to a Reilly, albeit living with her parents in 1911. Also, her father is a Richard, whereas Sarah in the Christy marriage had a father named John.
