1901/1911 census
« on: Monday 05 February 18 15:47 GMT (UK) »
I cannot find this family on the 1901/1911 census & was hoping
someone else may have better luck.

Francis Lester b 1865, Dublin
Teresa, wife b 1864, Dublin
Peter, son b 1894 - Golden Lane, Dublin
Louisa, dau b 1896 - Longford St, Dublin

Francis & Teresa also had sons John Joseph born c1887 & James John born c1888.

I think I have found son James residing in Drumcondra 1901 &
Mayor St. (North Dock, Dublin) 1911.

Any info would be appreciated.

Sue

Hello,

Do you have any of the family after 1911?
Have you checked deaths, marriages etc?

With James, if it is him, being in an Industrial  School, perhaps something has happened to the family?

Is this John’s marriage in 1912?

The address is the same as James in 1911.
If so, who is Mary Lester, witness?

Possible marriage 1911 James Lester and Mary Collier who may then be the witness, Mary Lester.

Both older sons joins the military about 1905, so John Joseph Lester could be away
for the 1911 census.

I cannot find the father Francis after 1896, but the mother Teresa seems to remain in Dublin
& remarries in 1937.

I also cannot find anything for Peter, other then his birth.
Louisa goes on to England & remains there until her death in 1981.

I do have the marriages for John Joseph & James John, but cannot find their birth records.

People in the Workhouse are usually listed by just initials on the census - so can be difficult to find
