1911 census images on My Heritage
« on: Wednesday 07 February 18 06:13 GMT (UK) »
Is it just me? I've only just joined My Heritage and I can't get any images of the 1911 census on My Heritage. The other census years are OK.
I phoned the help line and was told it was a technical issue and they were working on it. Am I being fobbed off?

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

The copyright to the 1911 census images are owned by BrightSolid - owners of FindMyPast.
Maybe MyHeritage don't have the rights to use the images?

Could it be that like FamilySearch you can get transcribed information from the 1911 but not the images?

The forms and the scanned image dataset are Crown Copyright, the written information is the copyright of the householder or the member of the public who filled out the form.

The scanned image dataset is licenced to the various companies who wish to reproduce it on their websites.

I think you will find that MyHeritage intend to reproduce the images, not just transcipts, but there is simply a technical image as they have mentioned.
