Tracing ancestors

Hi I'm just wondering does anyone know how Ivan find birth and death records for an ancestor I have year and place of birth but no birth or death records and fathers name on her marriage certificate is different from her name on her first marriage any help please. Birth place is Birmingham

If so you can put the name and year and we can have a look for you

FreeBMD is a work in progress done by volunteers and stops in 1983, at the moment. The coverage of later years can be sparse, not all districts are covered and some are more complete than others.

And of course most post 1983 births & marriages will involve people still living.

As Millipede says, we do need dates to help you with your general query, Marie; if you want help with particular [deceased] people, names as well please!!
