That's just after the 1861 census.

There is an unmarried Jacob Miller living at Saltcoats in 1861. He is a ploughman aged 26, birthplace Cumberland Moss Side  RG 9 / 3927 / 80 / 10

Oh well, it looks like I can rule out that Jane married under an alias.  Definitely doesn't sound like him or her.
