Mary was born in Y Ffor (Fourcrosses). Her father was Ellis Pritchard who took over his father's shop in Y Ffor but became bankrupt at the beginning of the last century. He then became the the landlord of the Rival Inn Llanaelhaern. That did not last long before he went to work in the coal mines in South Wales while his wife Anne moved to manage the inn in Cwm-y-glo. He died in 1940 although he was still working at the age of 78 on a farm Penycroes, Penisarwuan. Strangely the farmer's first name was Foulk(e) John Jones.
Jones - Penmachno/Blaenau Ffestiniog/Capel Garmon
Thomas - Abererch/Porthmadog
Evans - Llangelynin/Llanaelhaern
Jones - Pwllheli/Abererch
Brammer - Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire
Robb - London/Scotland
