Thank you for the interest. I am talking about the 1630's and the height of the Puritan migration specifically to Massachusetts.

My apologies for misunderstanding the question   Others have now provided more useful answers.

Of course most of the migration towards London, within the UK, happened in the 18th and 19th centuries. They, and the ones who left for the New World in those times, often on assisted passages, were more likely to be economic migrants.
