Searching for Elizabeth Jackson from Northamptonshire
« on: Friday 09 February 18 12:02 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information about Elizabeth Jackson (b. 1766) who married John Gibson, Sr.. According to the information I found, Elizabeth was originally from Northamptonshire and married John in Yorkshire.

Elizabeth's parents were Richard and Mary (Voce) Jackson. I have no information about either of them, except for their names. I would like to know where Richard, Mary, and Elizabeth were born and when, regarding Richard and Mary, (if possible).

I have searched on FamilySearch and Geni, but have found nothing. I don't pay money to Ancestry or FindMyPast, so that's not helpful either.  Any assistance is appreciated.

When and where did Elizabeth marry John Gibson.  What is the source of her Northamptonshire birth.

Where does the information that her parents were Richard Jackson & Mary (Voce) come from  :-\

How do you know who Elizabeth's parents were?  I was assuming you had seen a christening for her , till I read the bit that you wish to know where she was born, and seeing a chr record would have answered that question!

Assuming those to be the correct parents, - did they have any other children, siblings of Elizabeth? That might lead you to when their marriage may have been - and finding that might tell you if they were bachelor and spinster or if either had been married before. Finding a burial for them might give an age at burial, thus you will know approx. when they were born so know when to start looking for their christenings.
It really is a case of one step at a time, confirming each step from as many different sources as you can  before moving on.

According to C of E records I received, Elizabeth was born in Northamptonshire.  These same records mention her parents names, but nothing else.   I have no siblings listed.  I am not sure where John and Elizabeth were married.  I do know that John was an Anglican priest in Yorkshire.

Sorry do you mean you have Church of England records in respect of John being an Anglican clergyman and that is where the information comes from.  :-\

Perhaps it would help us if you could give some information on John & Elizabeths children ie. when & where were they born.

I was referring to where the info came from?   I found information about John as a priest from other Church of England records in Yorkshire.
