Are you able to give me a link as the only mention I can see of this couples marriage on Ancestry is in Selby and that is only where they have 'pulled over' the index from familysearch. I am obviously not looking in the right place  :)

Thank you

Rosie

Northamptonshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1532-1812

I find FamilySearch to be 'hit or miss' regarding finding people.  I prefer Geni, but this site has been helpful in this regard either.

If you can find the entry on there again then maybe you could post the link when you find it again so we can just open it.  Maybe someone else can find what I am missing.

I am looking for information about Elizabeth Jackson (b. 1766) who married John Gibson, Sr.. According to the information I found, Elizabeth was originally from Northamptonshire and married John in Yorkshire.

Elizabeth's parents were Richard and Mary (Voce) Jackson. I have no information about either of them, except for their names. I would like to know where Richard, Mary, and Elizabeth were born and when, regarding Richard and Mary, (if possible).

I have searched on FamilySearch and Geni, but have found nothing. I don't pay money to Ancestry or FindMyPast, so that's not helpful either.  Any assistance is appreciated.

My Selby (County of York) Parish Transcriptions have the descent ancestry when the first child is baptised:-

25th April 1788 Hannah Gibson bapt 1st Dau of John Gibson a "Sailer" & Elizabeth Gibson
John son of Joseph Gibson of Selby, Fisherman. Elizth dau of Richd Jackson of Selby, Currier by Mary his wife, dau of John Voce of Whiteley, Weaver. Born 20th April.

If you live in England and can get to your local Library or Record Office and you have Library Membership or Record Office Readers Ticket (photographic proof of ID, e.g. Passport and two printed name & address ID required), you should be able to access the image (usually without charge, to check these transcriptions are correct.
