Walter Corbett and ellinor’s marriage 1707
« on: Saturday 10 February 18 09:47 GMT (UK) »
I have Walter Corbett, my 8x great grandfather, having children with my 8x great grandmother, Ellen from Sep 1708 (Charlotte). All their children are baptised in the Parish of Romford (all dying in childhood except my 7x great grandmother too). They lived nearby to Romford in hare street, Gidea park and in Harold wood.
I have two possible births for Walter ... either 1655 to Walter or 1665 to Albert. My Walter has a child Albert, which makes me think he’s the 1665 one, but unsure. Only found one Walter having children (all with Ellen) and didn’t find a death for the other one.
I found this record of a marriage:
Name:   Walter Corbett
Gender:   Male
Marriage Date:   9 Oct 1707
Marriage Place:   Allhallows London Wall,London,London,England
Spouse:   Ellinor Hunt
FHL Film Number:   374335, 374336, 942.1 61 V26ALL PT 2, 942.1 L1 V26AL

Can’t see the image on ancestry and wondered if anyone else can elsewhere? Wondered if it had any places of abode?

Thanks

Hello
It is on Ancestry but you really have to look hard.
There's no more info.
But try Mary Corbett married 26 May 1707 to John Edwards and it's on the next page.
I'd guess Mary was his sister.
If it was me I'd be looking at other Corbetts at All Hallows London Wall.
And a London Will of Walter Corbett 1707 caught my interest. He and his wife Sage married in 1680 ,would he perhaps have a son Walter ?Though his will only mentions his wife, daughter Ann Corbett and brother William.

So in All Hallows
John Corbett buried 20.4.1574
Thomas married Ann Withen 19.9.1645
Their daughter Martha bapt 20.7.1651
John buried 10.6.1654
Corbett buried 11.11.1655
Daniel Corbett married Mary Shepard 16.10.1659
Joseph Corbett married Bridget Freeman  22.5.1659
Alice Corbett married  Edward Orringe  8.10.1660
Mary Corbet married 13.9.1660 Henry Sherwin
Daniel bapt 12.3.1661 s of Daniel and Mary
John married Frances Triffe 14.6.1664
Mary buried 19.9.1665
Susan Corbett 6.10.1681 Thomas Fisher
Martha Corbett 6.6.1682 John Ward
Margaret Corbett Feb 1684 Francis Duin
Mary Corbett bapt  28.2.1691 d of Leonard and Elizabeth
Leonard Corbett buried 16.4.1717
Robert Corbett married Feb 1722 Mary Ackland
John 26.9.1725 s of John and Elizabeth Corbett
Judith Corbett married 10.11.1726 to Anthony Chamberlain

Done to 1730 so there was a family in All Hallows parish.
Sorry if I went on a bit.

Thanks for all of that, Ciderdrinker.
I was hoping he might have been from Romford, as I’m fairly sure he’s one of the two Walter corbetts born there, one in 1655 and one in 1665 (just not sure which).
