GRO--ordering historic marriage certificates.........

Hello,

I have searched the official GRO website but have not been able to discover how to order marriage certificates. I have the full reference details and the year was 1890.

I do not live in the UK.

Could someone please provide details of the procedure required.

Hi

Once you have logged in to the site https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp on the right hand side there is a menu , click on "place an order" and then fill in the application form.

Minniehaha, you will have found the reference on a different site, FreeBMD for instance as, unfortunately,  GRO doesn't list marriages like it does births and deaths.  I hope it will in the future if only so we can buy pdf copies of marriage certs cheaper than we have to pay at the moment.
