ARTHUR MOORE,died 1838,birth details sought.

His West Hanningfield burial record of 1838 states--"a married man,more than 40 years clerk of this Parish,91 years."
This would date his birth to 1747.
His first child William was baptised in 1772 in West Hanningfield when he married Ann Birch in Stock,she died and he later married Mary Green in West Hanningfield in 1787.
Would really appreciate if his birthplace could be found as I think it would lead to further Moore/Green connections.

Not sure if that is the one,there do seem to have been Moores or Mores in West Hanningfield and surrounding areas going back quite a long way.

There’s very few Moores/mores on the West hanningfield Parish registers.
The only ones I found having children baptised prior to arthur were Thomas and Mary who had a John in 1736 and William having a William chapman Moore in 1729. Went back to 1713 and up to 1805.
Arthur and Ann had four from 1772 to 1780. She was buried 20/3/1783.
Arthur and Mary had ten from 1789 until 1805 (the last two died in infancy in 1802 and 1805).

Many years ago went through West Hanningfield Manorial Court Books,the "Greens" (my family) I think came to WH from Writtle due to marriage with the Moores.There is a will of Elizabeth Moore ,spinster, of WH died 1798 where she directs ARTHUR MOORE, her nephew,(and Isaac Robinson) to dispose of the "Three Compasses" WH in  which the Greens were involved,she was also  tenant of adjoining property,in which the Greens had an interest for many years.
I will request a copy of this will from the Record Office.
Although not knowing her date of birth,I cannot seem to find a relevant baptism record.

The image of the original will is on Essex records (SEAX) and mentions Arthur Moore of West Hanningfield, her nephew, and his children: William, Arthur, Thomas, and Ann.
For about £10 you can get a 24hour sunbscription and can save the images of the will and any other records that you want.
